SIMPA, an industrial company partner of the Senegal CSR Initiative, has signed a partnership agreement with SetTIC. Through this agreement, SIMPA entrusts its WEEE to SetTIC and adheres to the SetTIC Initiative by providing its support. The recycling of waste in accordance with current regulations and traceability will thus be guaranteed by SeTIC. Wishing to support entrepreneurship, SIMPA is also committed to supporting SetTIC in the acquisition of WEEE collection and storage BOXES.
Dakar, June 20, 2014, the Presidency of the Republic of Senegal has confirmed its trust in SetTIC by entrusting it with the management of its WEEE. In the presence of Mr. Diakaria DIALLO, IT Manager, SetTIC proceeded with the collection of WEEE from the Presidency. All obsolete electronic equipment of the Institution (from office equipment to network equipment, including energy equipment), stored for years, were thus transported to the SetTIC warehouse in order to begin their recycling process. SetTIC guarantees the Presidency, complete traceability, as well as management of WEEE in accordance with the regulations in force. By trusting SetTIC, the Presidency was not only able to significantly save space by freeing up the rooms previously occupied by WEEE, but also to improve the working conditions of the staff. This is also a strong gesture on the part of the Presidency, which is committed alongside SetTIC in its fight to limit the impact of WEEE on the environment, thus showing the right way forward in terms of electronic waste management.
The Consortium of Enterprises (CDE), a company in the Building and Public Works sector, is one of the first companies to have trusted SetTIC for the recycling of its WEEE. In the presence of Mr. Rassene CHEMALI, Managing Director and Ms. Lise SOW, Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Manager, the CDE signed a partnership agreement with SetTIC. Beyond the recycling of these WEEE, the CDE wishes, through this agreement, to commit to the SetTIC Initiative in raising public awareness of the dangers associated with WEEE, but also of the importance of a good waste management policy.
